My body of work is an expression and exploration of my lifelong fascination with animals. Though my paintings, I seek to give animals a voice and a personality, while making light of our uniquely human existence. By imagining what animals might do if put in human situations, I stage tableaus that shine a spotlight on both their innocence and raw instinct. This collision between animal and human sensibilities creates a whimsical, theatrical, and often humorous world that viewers can relate to on an emotional level.

A graphic designer by trade and an oil painter by design, I am continually experimenting with different styles of contemporary realism that balance my artistic sensibilities, technique, and unique sense of humor. As I evolve, what remains constant is my respect for the animals that inspire me, and my desire to bring a smile to the face of every viewer.

Suzanne is an award-winning product designer and artist celebrating 22 years in the business of making art.  Trained as a textile designer, her love of color, pattern and nature is never far from her painting and design work.  Using rich color and a painterly style, her work is imaginative and expressive with a twist of modern whimsy.  “I grew up on a sailboat; my mother was an artist, and my father was an avid long-distance sailor.  I got to see a lot of the world and travel to unusual places growing up.  My mother and I painted everywhere we went.  I never thought about being anything but an artist.”  After studying textile design Suzanne began creating work for the home furnishings industry.  You can find her work on dinnerware, rugs, pillows, wallpaper, fabric and fine art prints.  “I’ve had the opportunity to partner with wonderful companies that have brought exposure to my studio and my artwork.”

Suzanne lives with her husband, two sons and a basset hound in a small Connecticut town.  Se is grateful for her unique and artistic family, her garden, and the many kind and talented people she has worked with and learned from over the years.

Born in Vietnam, Duy Huynh came with his family to the United States as refugee in 1981. They were commonly referred to as “boat people”, a moniker that he has often drawn inspiration from. Despite the challenges of assimilation and an enduring sense of displacement, growing up in southern California proved to be a transformative chapter in Duy’s life. His first introduction to art came in the form of murals, graffiti, comic books and animation. In attempts to create his own heroic characters, Duy developed a passion for drawing. More importantly for a kid that felt like an outcast, drawing became a means of transcending language barriers and cultivating connections.

In 1994 Duy attended UNC Charlotte with the hope of becoming an illustrator. It was not until the end of his sophomore year that he fell in love with painting and decided to pursue it after graduation. Duy’s work can be found in several galleries around the country, including Lark & Key, which he co-own’s with his wife Sandy Snead.

“I’ve also explored a variety of avenues and applications for painting. From creating public murals to painting live on stages, to collaborating with writers and musicians, it’s important to me that my work is accessible and far-reaching”.

Jan Weiss is a native California artist working in a variety of mediums from acrylic on wood panel and canvas to digital renderings and typography.

“My earliest memory of knowing I wanted to make art was after I received a set of high quality felt tip markers as a Christmas gift. The back of the package had a painting by Monet – who I was not familiar with at the time – and after seeing the image I thought that someone rendered that painting with markers. Which led me to believe if someone else did that then I could too. What ambition for an eight year old!”

Jan’s work ranges from abstract landscapes, to modern design, and mixed media. The artist believes in the democracy of art; that art belongs to everyone and create works that fall into a variety of prices making it available to a range of budgets and buyers.

“My art is an adventure. I am constantly trying out new styles and techniques but when I look at my collection I see a similar palette or unique signature that defines my individual nature. I continue to grow and learn and discover through my art”.

Jan received her BA in Fine Arts from Cal State East Bay and shows in galleries in the Bay Area.

Artist, dreamer, abstract and color addict, Ishita Banerjee trained as a classical, fine artist, with a Bachelors in Fine Arts degree in Applied Arts and a Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) in Communication Design. Her art is an assimilation of life experiences, merging imagination and memory to create vivid and bold abstracts, people, faces and non-traditional portraiture, rendered in strong color, motifs and details.

Working in the mixed media techniques, Ishita uses acrylics, inks, watercolor, pens, markers as well as digital textures and paintings. Straddling surfaces of paper, canvas, illustration boards and drawing on the iPad with an Apple pencil, she likes to blend traditional methods of drawing with digital paintings.

Threading lines, textures and markings in her work tells the story of the passage of time, the inter-connections of forms, both tangible and abstract.

Ishita lives, loves, creates and works in Montreal, Canada, using locally sourced materials, Canadian made products, eco-friendly printing techniques, while consciously trying to reduce her carbon footprint by eliminating wasteful packaging and synthetic materials.

“Using the basic art elements of color, design and texture I create a vibrant and opulent canvas which both pleases and stimulates the art lover. The absence of recognizable objective forms leads you on your own journey of discovery in each of my abstract paintings.” Karen Hale’s original contemporary artwork has been called dynamic, bold, explosive and exciting but they also involve subtle nuances of color and meaning that takes the viewer into the painting where they can make new and unexpected insights.

Hale constructs her paintings with layers of thick and thin color that is washed or glazed over textured surfaces using brushes, trowels, and found objects. She uses acrylic paints and mediums and may add a variety of paper, chalk pastels, graphite and metallic leafing. The results are a delight of color and texture.

Karen lives on five acres in the foothills of California with her husband, Tom. She is an avid gardener and her land is filled with paths, sculptures, and exuberant flower beds. Her sense of color and design are evident even in her gardens that like her paintings feel free and spontaneous but exude design and beauty.

Megan Chapman has been dedicated to the practice of painting and drawing for well over 20 years. In her work, she conveys emotional states and her openness to the process through gesture and action. “I create powerful places to get lost – I think many of us need a place we can go and just be. Perhaps now more than ever. Give me a charcoal line and I will show you my heart’s story. Pair that line with paint and I will show you my life.”

This is a delicate balance - this calling. “I gingerly walk on a high, fine line. My faith in the alchemy of art guides each step. I am here for the mystery and the freedom. I am here because I know this is where I belong and it is through painting that I find myself and my community. This is my lineage. This is my family tree made of charcoal dust.”

Megan’s paintings are in collections throughout the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. She was born and raised in Fayetteville Arkansas, earned a BFA with honors in painting from the University of Oregon, and currently lives and works in Edinburgh Scotland.

Pam Beer’s paintings on birch panel begin with mark-making and may be a bit haphazard. She continues to work her panels until an idea grabs hold of her and finds its way as the final layer of the work.

There is always a word, a person, or a feeling that the work at the beginning before the story fully forms. As each work develops through a process of layering and textures, structure and looseness, lights and darks; the visual dialog becomes stronger and the story solidifies.

“I paint to quiet my world. While painting, I release onto the panels any angst or turbulence allowing myself to move from that place to one of peace and joy.”

She accepts a few commissions a year, enjoying the journey of relationship along the way.

Jeffrey Tover is an award-winning Bay Area based abstract painter that lives in the historic town of Benicia just outside of San Francisco.  He is also an avid photographer that enjoys taking pictures of his travels to Europe, Asia and Australia. His paintings are often influenced by these pursuits. Taking inspiration from Cy Twombly, Joan Mitchell and Willem DeKooning, Jeff produces works full of colorful gestures and marks. His motivation is to create work that is never boring and will keep the viewer engaged long after it is hung on a wall.  His work has caught the eye of international and commercial collectors and has exhibited in numerous galleries across the country.

"...my paintings are as unique as each person walking the earth. they are meant to invoke their own persona and therefore influence the viewer in different ways. I paint without fear and without intention. I wish to explore the possibilities and be open to the dialogue that presents itself between the creator and its creation.."

Lori Dubois recalls her greatest art influence was her mom,  who was a talented New York mural artisan. The artist describes her mentor as artfully creative and ahead of her time. Her mother's artistic view of nature provided Dubois with a keen eye and awareness of surrounding beauty.

Dubois later applied her artistic DNA to a career in marketing, graphic art and web design at a major electronic giant in New Jersey.  In the next chapter, a passion for the shoreline called her to the New England coast where she returned to her painting roots and rekindled a connection to art and nature. 

Her modern art focus includes a versatile collection of Abstract, Geometric and Coastal works.  She enjoys experimenting with mixed media and unique art techniques to create modern tranquility. “ My focus on tranquility and blended abstract style enhances room design with serenity. My versatile collections are a unique blend of color and composition intended to create a relaxed vibe.  Creating art is my Zen; it keeps me inspired and connected to my mom's legacy."

Mila Apperlo is an abstract painter inspired by textures, colors and sounds of the natural world. With a subtle and conceptual approach, Mila creates a wide scale of subjects in a multi-layered way. Her work doesn’t reference recognizable form. The results are deconstructed to the extent that meaning is shifted and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted.

By applying abstraction, Mila creates intense personal moments masterfully created by means of rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal, luring the viewer round and round in circles.

Mila’s paintings have been exhibited and awarded both nationally and internationally. Currently she lives and works in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Alan’s fine art photography publishing projects have been successful as wall decor, calendars, books and greeting cards. In addition, his hand crafted black and white and sepia fine art prints are sought after by collectors and featured in exhibitions in Museums and Galleries. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions over the past 20 years, including a 120 print retrospective.

Alan’s excursions to Europe have taken on new interest now that his style of photography has been discovered. For several decades Alan has been capturing images in European parks and gardens. On his European photography excursions Alan still uses large format traditional film cameras photographing preferably in adverse weather. “I see Europe in black-and-white in my mind’s eye because it is so old and there is so much stone and texture. When it is cloudy and dreary out, I often photograph all day. The textures and tones I am looking for are depicted delicately when the lighting is soft.” Primarily Alan prefers to photograph during the sunrise and sunset hours, as well as at night. This gives his photographs a crisp, clean mood; with perfect detail in the highlights and shadows. Alan’s approach, photographic style and sensitivity to lighting help capture the spirit of the architecture and environment in his photography.

Alan is a passionate traveler and image maker. During time spent abroad and within the USA, he has captured a unique variety of photography ranging from architecture to landscapes, in addition to portraits and still life photography. Alan’s nostalgic, soft, romantic and alluring imagery brings the past into the present.

Kathleen Robbins earned her MFA at Massachusetts College of Art where she was an adjunct faculty member for 5 years. A resident of the Button Factory Artist Studios in Portsmouth, many of her landscapes reflect the seacoast area in New Hampshire and Maine. Gallery representation includes Van Ward Gallery Ogunquit ME, Camden Falls Gallery Camden ME as well as Art 3 Gallery Manchester NH.

Inspiration comes from many sources including still life and landscape. The process of building the painting is critical to her work. Gesture, color, line and surface all come together to walk the illusive line between representation and abstraction.

Over her career Kathleen has received many awards including three best in show awards for plein air painting in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Her work is in many private collections throughout New England and the United States.

Her professional experience also includes working as an art therapist at Exeter Hospital, Exeter NH

As a graduate of Rutgers Mason Gross Art Institute in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Salaam Muhammad got his start producing realism oil paintings as a freshman, and soon after created several pieces for various local businesses. Through his spirituality he discovered the power of art where he could creatively express themes of love, connection, and unity that resonate with everyone. His rising popularity sparked requests for creating art for popular galleries in New York, as well as speaking at various academic institutions.

Salaam expanded his talent to also include becoming an illustrator for various children's books and other projects.  Over six exhibitions later  he has become a well known, seasoned professional who continues to capture the profound beauty of life through the combination of color, texture, and symbolism in his work. 

Continuously striving to be a vessel for positive change and a visionary artist, his creations aim to depict a side of black life rarely seen in the mainstream. By merging his own creativity with lessons from the greats - some of his favorites being Cesar Santos, Max Ginsburg, and Rembrandt Harmenszoon, Salaam's goal is to "Inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the world around them ; to discover beauty in unusual places. 

Patrick Dennis has lived in California, Oregon, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, and Washington D.C. In his life he has been a musician, restaurateur, teacher, museum specialist, gallerist, lobbyist and founder of thirteen art festivals. The common thread throughout these various careers and locales is his love of painting for the last 30 years. He enjoys the seclusion and intuitive process of painting and challenging his own perception and skills.

Living in Cambria, on California’s Central Coast, provides bountiful inspiration but it’s the reflections on our precarious relationship with nature that prompts Patrick to explore ways to render the evolution.

“It’s not only about rendering the elements of sky, earth and water in variation. It’s about capturing the memory fragment salvaged from the experience.”

It is important for Patrick to create an engaging, yet tranquil painting that conveys an impression of the struggle between nature and our encroaching urbanization. Hard edges and texture are contrasted with soft hues and ambiguous compositions. The excavation process uncovers and exposes elements from the original composition resulting in a finished product that represents a suggestion of the original intent. Memories, after all become obscured, losing sharpness over time; thus the impressionistic results.

Elena Chukhlebova  is both a photographer and an AI artist residing in California, close to the mesmerizing shores of Malibu. The beauty and magnificence of the ocean serve as her boundless wellspring of creative inspiration. Within Elena’s artistic endeavors, she aims to encapsulate and convey the unique ambiance and formidable essence of nature’s grandeur.

Her photographs grace the forefront of premier global photo banks and are prominently featured in international exhibitions. Additionally, they find themselves seamlessly integrated into the interior décor of over a thousand homes worldwide, imparting a sense of tranquility and harmony to their inhabitants.

Moreover, Elena is deeply committed to championing environmental preservation. For numerous years, she has dedicated a portion of her earnings to support organizations dedicated to beach conservation and the study of marine life. She firmly believes that each individual plays a vital role in safeguarding our planet, and through her work, she endeavors to contribute to this cause.

“Through my creative endeavors, my aspiration is not only to captivate and inspire viewers but also to contribute towards making the world a more beautiful and compassionate place”. 

Gabriela Avila is an emerging artist from Mexico. She has always surrounded herself with art and creative people, “my grandfather loved to paint, and my father was an architect”. Avila has a degree in Graphic Design, but considers herself mostly self-taught. When it comes to painting, she loves experimenting with textures and different materials.

“I love color. My work is mostly inspired by nature and Mexican traditions with bold strokes and freestyle lines that intertwine creating abstract forms and figures reminiscent mostly of flowers and animals”.

Gabriela has participated in some local art shows, at the IMAF Mexico Art Fair in 2022, and her work can be found in galleries in Los Cabos and Mexico City.

Nicholas Bell (TN, USA) is a fine art photographer specializing in minimalist black and white and monochromatic color-toned work. His passion for photography was born while traveling through Europe in the 1980's.

After photographing as a hobby for years, Nick began pursuing the craft as a profession in 2004, and participated in his first public exhibition in 2008.

“The first day that I spent with a camera I discovered that being completely focused on a scene, seemed to slow time. There is something spiritual about this connection for me - it allows me to feel present in the moment and see the world with more meaning and appreciate”

Today, Nick works as a full time photographer providing archival quality prints to collectors, interior designers, art consultants and publishers of fine art.

In addition to being held in numerous private and corporate collections, Nick's work has been published in books, major photography publications, on album covers and television, most recently appearing in the Ken Burns documentary film "Country Music".

Ronald Martin West was born in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, in 1974. From childhood Ronald have shown a keen interest in art. His formal art training only started in high school, when he joined the PJ Olivier Art Centre from 1989 to 1992, with sculpture as the main subject. 

Ronald matriculated from Paul Roos Gimnasium, Stellenbosch, South Africa in 1992. In 1993 he started studying at the Cape Technicon Graphic Design Department. 

One night in early 2003, Ronald had a vivid dream, almost a calling. He bought his first art easel the very next day, paint and accessories, and started painting without any formal painting experience.  Ronald painted at every chance he was given.  

Soon after a well know gallery in Cape Town discovered him and offered a solo exhibition. The exhibition was a sold out, and since then, Ronald was represented by numerous South African galleries.

Ronald paints about 3 to 5 works a month, and only works in oil. His subject matter concentrates on the Mediterranean life style, and the dream world, and mainly his well know plump, fun ladies. And don’t forget the black cat in all his paintings.

His sources of inspiration have been Amadeo Modigliani, Picasso and Van Gogh, and of course life as he dreams it.

Born in Mildura, Craig has shown an interest in art and drawing from a very young age and has created a successful career as a professional artist. In 1970, the family moved to the Western District of Victoria and Craig's love of art and artistic interests extended into ceramics and sculpture. Craig has constructed several wood fired kilns for this purpose. You could say "it fired his imagination".

Studying art at Ballarat University, painting and graphic design claimed most of his attention allowing him to pursue a successful career in illustration as a member of the Illustrators Association of Australia for many years.   Craig has skills in a range of mediums including computer graphics; he taught both traditional drawing, illustration and digital drawing at both Victoria University and Swinburne University. 

Craig never lost his love of using traditional methods and now specializes in watercolour, acrylic painting and illustration.

In 2001, Craig had his first major solo exhibition in Mt Eliza, Victoria. There have been many exhibitions and awards since.  Craig's work has been accepted by Galleries around Australia, Singapore, SE Asia and California as well as many private collections and is in strong demand today. 

Gina Matarazzo is a designer of books and paintings. She occasionally hides chocolate like a squirrel (meaning, she doesn’t always remember where she puts it). She loves details and secrets and stories and everything about the creative process, especially the challenge and the hard work.

There are hidden secrets, wonders and joys of the world right under our noses every day. Gina enjoys creating art that celebrates the things that are often overlooked and taken for granted. When is the last time you really looked at the sky or the sprightly little rabbit in your yard? What does that dog of yours dream about? She believes everyone needs to slow down and pay more attention to what's going on around them. With a little creative license, she aims to show you a magical way of looking at ordinary things. 

Gina lives with her illustrator husband and cats Gwendolyn, Cecily and Georgie in southern New Jersey where at certain spot between trees, you can catch a glimpse of the beautiful Philadelphia skyline in the distance. 

Marion Griese completed a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Toronto in 1992. After travelling and working in Europe, she studied jewelry art and design for two years at Vancouver Community College. These two art forms have allowed her to explore ideas and concepts from different angles. A found object may inspire a painting, which consequently may inspire a piece of jewelry. Other times, the jewelry may spark ideas for a painting. 

She has a deep appreciation for balance, proportion and colour and looks to both natural and urban forms for inspiration. She is currently focusing her time on a new series of abstract paintings. Marion Griese resides in the Niagara area of Southern Ontario with her family, where she teaches art to young children.
